Desktop Maintenance

There is probably no single piece of equipment in any company's inventory that will require more maintenance than a desktop PC. If you aren't updating your Windows operating system or installing more memory to allow continued support of your diverse software, you're replacing a fatigued component like your hard drive or monitor. We know that you may not have the capabilities or time to do this yourself. You may have questions regarding the process:

  • Is all of my software and hardware compatible with this upgrade?
  • Will I lose the data that I've been accumulating since taking this position?

Let Network Factor answer those questions for you. We will take the time necessary to make sure that the upgrade or replacement is as quick and successful as possible, and that no data is lost during the process by backing up critical file and information before beginning.

Regular planned maintenance is also essential to keeping your systems running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

  • Defrag system drives
  • Spyware scan and cleaning or removal of infected items.
  • Internally cleaning dust off of hardware to prevent fan motor fatigue and/or short-circuiting of your system board.
  • Hardware driver upgrades
  • Windows Update
  • And much more...

>> Server Maintenance
Your company's server is designed to operate on its own requiring minimal intervention in order to provide employees with dedicated and reliable service. A properly maintained server will be able to deliver that expected goal with no trouble at all.
Servers require the same type of maintenance as desktops (above) and almost, but not quite, as frequently. The impression is that the server is never touched. This is one of the greatest misconceptions people can make. While you're not physically walking up to and logging into the server like you would a workstation, every one of your employees is constantly using resources and programs on it:

  • Exchange Server (e-mail)
  • SQL Server (database)
  • File storage
  • Logging in to their workstations
  • Authenticating to gain access to the internet
  • DNS queries (name resolution for other computers' and internet addresses)
  • And much more...

Server maintenance is a necessary evil but is completely painless when performed properly. Network Factor can schedule times to perform the required maintenance so that your users' productivity is minimally affected, our goal being minimal interference. We will plan out times with notice so your users can be performing tasks not dependant on the server or in an after-hours to perform some of the following tasks (but not limited to):

  • Defrag system drives
  • Exchange information store (mailbox and public folder) error correction and checkups.
  • Defrag Database
  • Hardware cleaning/installation
  • Server reboot
  • And more...

>> Hardware Maintenance
Your organization's miscellaneous hardware items do not require as much attention, but as you have probably learned by now problems do arise. We understand that you need these problems fixed quickly to avoid loss in production time and keeping your employees' productivity at an optimal level. Additionally, you may want to increase speed and reduce latency by putting newer, faster components in place. Let Network Factor take care of them for you.
Examples:

  • Routers
  • Switches
  • Hubs
  • Network and phone connections
  • Wireless devices
  • And more...
